We are looking for a Fabrication Supervisor to join our client based in Pinxton.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
· Planning and control of daily production schedules.
· Direct supervision of production personnel.
· Ensuring that any changes to production processes are reviewed, planned and don’t adversely affect the business before implementation of the changes.
· Understanding all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and procedures.
· Embracing all aspects of assigned staff management, identifying competency requirements, training, development of the team and all disciplinary procedures.
· Maintaining and creating a good working atmosphere and motivating the workforce to create team building
· Implementing and monitoring health, safety and environmental issues within their department to ensure compliance with the appropriate legislation.
· Prevent the recurrence of non-conformities by identification, segregation, reporting, initiating correction and corrective action and verifying these.
· Set out the work loading plan (list of work to be provided daily) and advises of issues that can cause delivery delays/costs, so this can be reported back to the customer.
· Provide updates to customers through utilising the existing team.
· Optimise machine run times, and ensures where target times set are not being met that Engineering Department are made aware.
· Expedites all issues affecting the operations capability – if tooling is needed, or staff levels needed, then these are to be identified and addressed.
· To take responsibility for staffing levels and overtime.
· Take lead responsibility of staff during the shift, ensuring that they are working within hours, wearing PPE, and following company policies as set out.
· Assist, help, and train personnel in the Fabrication area.
· Setting and operation of CNC Press Brakes.
· Maintain programs within the machines, eliminating programming errors.
· Inspect parts for defects as part of in-process inspection; record results, adjust program or notify appropriate person of deviation when needed.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate would be experienced within the engineering/manufacturing industry and therefore knowledgeable of fabrication processes and work involved. They will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. They would be an effective leader and act as a role model in all aspects of their work. The candidate would be able to work under pressure, to strict time and financial parameters whilst always considering the prosperity of the business.
Skills and Qualifications:
A desirable skill set would include, but not be limited to:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Competently and safely operate a CNC Press Brake without supervision.
· Good time management.
· Well organised.
· Good IT capabilities.
· Business minded, driven and forward thinking.
The Position:
This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week (with early finish on Fridays!). Salary is negotiable to the right candidate.
